✨Tattoo Aftercare ✨

Caring for your new tattoo is just as important as getting it. Follow these instructions to help your piece heal beautifully and protect your investment.

🩹 If You're Using Second Skin (Saniderm or similar)

Leave it on for 1–3 days
Your second skin acts as a protective barrier. You may notice some fluid buildup underneath—this is totally normal.

To remove:
Peel gently under warm water. Pull slowly in the direction of hair growth, close to the skin (not upward).

After removal:
• Wash gently with warm water and fragrance-free soap
• Pat dry with a clean towel
• Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion 1–2 times a day until fully healed

Do not reapply a new second skin after removal. Let it breathe and continue with lotion-based aftercare.

🧼 Traditional Healing (No Second Skin)

1. Leave the bandage on for 2–4 hours
This protects your tattoo from bacteria and irritation immediately after your session.

2. Gently wash the area
Use clean hands and fragrance-free soap. Avoid scrubbing—just a gentle lather and rinse. Pat dry with a clean towel.

3. Apply aftercare ointment
Use a thin layer of Aquaphor, Hustle Butter, or another recommended ointment for the first 3–5 days. After that, switch to an unscented lotion until healed.

💫 Healing Tips & What to Expect

• Peeling, flaking, and mild itchiness are normal—don’t scratch or pick
• Keep the area moisturized but not overly greasy
• Healing takes about 2–4 weeks on the surface (longer for full healing depending on the tattoo and your body)

🚫 Avoid While Healing

• No soaking—baths, pools, hot tubs, or the ocean for at least 2 weeks
• No direct sun or tanning
• No heavy sweating on the tattoo area (like intense workouts) for a few days
• No scented soaps, lotions, or essential oils on the tattoo
• Don’t touch it with unwashed hands
